Oct. 28 (UPI) -- A.J. Dybantsa, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, will make his debut Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Washington Wizards announced.
Dybantsa missed the Wizards' first four games due to an ankle injury. He averaged 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game over four appearances in the preseason.
The former BYU star rolled his left ankle during the Wizards' preseason finale -- a 107-106 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Oct. 16 in New Orleans.
Veteran forward Anthony Davis led the Wizards with 22.8 points and 9.3 rebounds per game through four starts this season. Point guard Trae Young averaged 22.3 points and a league-high 11 assists per bout.
The Wizards (2-2) previously ruled out guard-forward Justin Champagnie (foot), forward Tristan Vukcevic (hip) and forward Jamir Watkins (knee) for Wednesday's matchup. They will face the Cavaliers (2-1) at 7 p.m. EDT in Cleveland.
