Marina Mabrey was unavailable Wednesday as the Toronto Tempo fell 93-82 to the Washington Mystics, extending their losing streak to 12 games. The loss officially eliminated Toronto from playoff contention, ending the expansion franchise's hopes of reaching the postseason in its inaugural WNBA season.
The Tempo (10-25) hold the third worst record in the WNBA and will now focus on finishing their first season the best way possible. Toronto has nine games remaining, beginning Friday with a home matchup against the Portland Fire. The Fire have already beaten the Tempo twice this season, including a 97-83 victory on Aug. 6.

On Thursday, the Tempo announced that Mabrey's absence will continue, with the team listing her out with a right adductor injury on its updated report.
Maria Conde and Nyara Sabally, who are nursing left calf injuries, have also been ruled out against Portland.
Mabrey has been one of the brightest spots of Toronto's inaugural season. The veteran guard earned the first All-Star selection of her career and is averaging 20.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. She also tied the WNBA single-game scoring record with 53 points against the Los Angeles Sparks on June 25.

Toronto will now try to end its losing streak against a Portland team that enters Friday still vying for postseason play. The Fire have won 15 games this season and are 4.5 games behind the Dallas Wings, who currently hold the final playoff spot.
