De Zerbi has said Sarr is suffering with a hamstring issue, having been afforded extended leave following the World Cup.
Spurs have already raised over £100m in player sales this summer and are believed to want around £20m for Sarr.
De Zerbi said of Sarr on Friday: "Pape is good [fitness-wise]. We have to see in the last days of the transfer market what can happen with him."
De Zerbi has been clear that he cannot guarantee players minutes after a busy summer of spending, but after talks, Lucas Bergvall is expected to stay at the club.
Bergvall had expressed a desire to leave Spurs earlier in the summer but is now set to stay and compete for minutes.
