Trevor Lawrence trotted off the field holding a half-eaten cupcake that he'd been given to celebrate his birthday victory.
He passed for a career-best 371 yards with two touchdowns while completing 28 of 34 passes and helped deliver the Jacksonville Jaguars ' first victory of the season last year.
On the other side of the field, Indianapolis Colts players walked back to a locker room that they haven't seen success in.
They've lost 10 consecutive road games to the Jaguars , including a loss overseas in London, and are still trying to break a streak that threatens to get more lopsided on Sunday when they visit EverBank Stadium for a clash for the lead of the AFC South.

"I'm sure, who knows, in their building they might be using that as fuel. I'm sure they are," Lawrence told reporters during his weekly availability. "And for us, it's a new year though. We can't hang our hats on something that this team hasn't done. We haven't beat this — this Jags team hasn't beat this Colts team here at home in 2025."
Lawrence is coming off what's been described as his best game of the season by some observers. He completed 16 of 27 passes for 229 yards with two touchdowns in Jacksonville's dominant victory against the Tennessee Titans . But it's the stat that's blank — he had zero turnovers against the Titans — that is the most encouraging part of his performance.
Especially as he came off a four-turnover game against the Arizona Cardinals where the Jaguars escaped with an overtime victory. Now, Lawrence and Jacksonville's offense will go up against a Colts' defense that he has fond respect for.
Trevor Lawrence acknowledges teammates' ability to step up in difficult situations
It hasn't been an easy road for the Jaguars to claw to the top of the AFC South.
They have had to battle injuries on both sides of the ball, but offensively, they've been hampered since the early part of the year. Major contributors have been sidelined at various points in the season, including Brenton Strange , Brian Thomas Jr. , Anton Harrison , Travis Hunter and now Walker Little .
But teammates have stepped up and handled their duties in their absence, ensuring the team can stay afloat while missing starters. A clear example of that was offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen 's performance against the Tennessee Titans .
Van Lanen was playing at right guard for the injured Patrick Mekari , but when left tackle Walker Little had to leave the game, he moved to the left tackle spot.
"I think just how guys have prepared every week and have been ready to play," Lawrence said. "There's no greater test than that, if you're ready to play or not, is get out there and you've got to go play the rest of the game because we've got guys hurt and we've had a lot of that and guys have played really well in different spots."
Another example of this is Jakobi Meyers , who the team acquired at the trade deadline. Meyers has essentially become the lead receiver for the Jaguars after Hunter was sidelined by a season-ending injury and Thomas missed three games while nursing an ankle injury.
He's still learning on the fly but led the way with 90 yards on six catches as the Jaguars defeated the Titans. He's recorded 18 catches on 21 targets for 245 yards and two touchdowns in four games with the team.
"He doesn't really make many mistakes. He does a good job, but I think that's the exciting part is that's just going to continue to grow as he is here longer," Lawrence said. "We keep communicating and we've put him in a lot of different positions, asked him to do a lot, and there hasn't been anything he hasn't been able to handle."
With the offense synching, Lawrence and the Jaguars are bracing for the looming big game. Which is refreshing for him, because for the last two seasons the Jaguars were trending in a downward direction by late in the season.
But Sunday at 1 p.m. inside EverBank Stadium, there will be meaningful football played.
"You hate to say it, but it is just true. The excitement around the team and the energy is just different when you're in the hunt and you're playing for the playoffs in the postseason," Lawrence said. "The feeling around the team of just we know that the biggest games are still coming up for us and that we're playing for a lot.
"And that's why you play, and that's what makes it fun being in this position."
