While the Tulane Green Wave are looking to get right again on the field against the Charlotte 49ers, they are paying as much attention to the future of the program with respect to recruiting as they are on the field.
The program recently had two commits announce that they were choosing the Green Wave.
First up was three-star offensive lineman Caleb Unger, who decommitted from the Mississippi State Bulldogs with a ton of Power Four offers, including from the LSU Tigers, Oregon Ducks, Colorado Buffaloes, Duke Blue Devils, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Baylor Bears, and Florida State Seminoles, with as many G6 offers including fellow conference members Memphis Tigers, UTSA Roadrunners, and South Florida Bulls.
He is their highest-ranked 2027 commit once he pledged on Oct. 26. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound o-lineman has a high motor and plays with strong physicality. He is the fifth offensive line pledge in the 2027 class.
It's certainly a position group that the Green Wave need to pay real attention to after things have not gone well this season, largely due to injury . However, the investment there NIL-wise just wasn't the same as in year's past.
But investing in it with future classes matters just as much. Dom Steward, Gresham Perry, and Reese Baker are all former recruits for Tulane who found their way into the starting lineup.
Unger committed after his visit to the campus this past weekend.
The Wave also added offensive guard Jordan Carraway, another three-star commit who also slots is as the No. 9 ranked offensive guard in Texas in his class.
Like Unger, Carraway held multiple Power Four offers. In fact, the interior offensive lineman held a total of 33 offers.
The Power Four offers included the Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, Arkansas Razorbacks, Baylor, Cal Golden Bears, Duke, Houston Cougars, Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas State Wildcats, North Carolina Tar Heels, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Pittsburgh Panthers, Purdue Boilermakers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Stanford Cardinals, TCU Horned Frogs, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, and SMU Mustangs.
It's a rather extensive list. The American Conference also made a strong play for Carraway, as he held offers from UTSA, North Texas Mean Green, and Tulsa Golden Hurricanes.
He's another major add to the 2027 class and another secured depth piece to grow on the offensive line under offensive line coach Cody Kennedy and assistant o-line coach Kanan Ray.
They have plenty of young talent to work with in the upcoming seasons.
