Two Liverpool youngsters set to leave on loan
Liverpool Loan Moves Gather Pace as Morrison Departs and Ndukwe, Ramsay Near Exits
Liverpool's loan market is moving quickly, and there is no mystery about the thinking behind it. One deal is done, two more are close, and each case says something different about the player involved.

Kieran Morrison has completed a loan move to Sheffield Wednesday for the rest of the 2026/27 season. The timing means he could be available immediately, with Wednesday facing Bradford in League One tonight. For a young player at Morrison's stage, this is straightforward. He needs football, regular minutes and a setting where he can take responsibility.
There is no downside here for Liverpool. Morrison gets exposure in a demanding league, Sheffield Wednesday get a talented young player, and the club can assess where he stands after a proper run of senior football.
Ndukwe Loan Has Clear Development Purpose
Ifeanyi Ndukwe is heading in a different direction, literally and strategically. He is travelling to Spain to complete a loan move to Levante after an impressive pre-season. The issue is practical rather than footballing. He does not yet qualify for a UK work permit, so Liverpool are sending him out with a clear target in mind.

The plan is for his situation to be reviewed in January, when it is expected he will have met the criteria to become eligible to play competitively in England. That matters. This is not a player being parked out of sight. This is a player Liverpool want developing in the right environment until the paperwork catches up.
Ndukwe has done enough over the past month to raise interest in what comes next. Liverpool's centre-back depth has changed, with Ronald Araujo arriving on loan and Jeremy Jacquet back fit, but Ndukwe has still made people take notice. If he performs in Spain, the conversation around him will become more serious very quickly.
Calvin Ramsay Nears St Mirren Switch
Calvin Ramsay's situation is far less complicated and far more final. He is set to join St Mirren on a season-long loan and has permission to travel for a medical. With only one year left on his Liverpool contract, this move "will effectively end" his career at Anfield.

That sounds harsh, but facts are facts. Ramsay has made only four first-team appearances in four years at Liverpool. Injuries have hurt him, timing has hurt him, and opportunities never truly arrived. At 23, he needs to play and Liverpool need clarity.
A clean break now looks inevitable. St Mirren offers him a chance to rebuild rhythm and credibility, but from Liverpool's perspective this is the final stage of a deal that never got going.
Liverpool Loan Strategy Taking Shape
These three exits fit one broad pattern, even if the details differ. Morrison is going out to grow. Ndukwe is going out to qualify and sharpen up. Ramsay is going out because the road back has effectively gone.

That is how competent squad management works. Not every loan means the same thing. Some are investment, some are administration, some are closure. Liverpool now have examples of all three.
As first reported in developments around the club's latest exits, Liverpool have moved decisively. There will be no sentimentality around these decisions, nor should there be. Young players need matches, and clubs need answers.
