Oshkosh native and NBA star Tyrese Haliburton continues to lean into trolling the Wisconsin/ Milwaukee Brewers fan base, appearing in full Chicago Cubs gear for a ceremonial first pitch Sept. 3 in advance of the Cubs' 2-1 win over the Brewers at Wrigley Field.
Haliburton said in 2025 that he was a baseball-fan "free agent" after the Brewers nixed the initial plan for Haliburton to throw a first pitch at American Family Field for a 2024 game.

Haliburton had already become a Wisconsin sports villain by that point after his Indiana Pacers eliminated the Milwaukee Bucks from the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs . The Pacers repeated the feat in 2025, a series that included a minor run-in between Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Haliburton's father, John, after one of the playoff losses.
Out for the season with an Achilles injury in 2025-26, Haliburton donned Cubs gear on the bench at an early season Pacers game during the 2025 National League Division Series between the Brewers and Cubs, then switched to Dodgers gear when the Brewers faced Los Angeles in the NLCS.
Cubs fandom trickles throughout Indiana, meaning there's plenty of crossover already between Pacers and Cubs fans.
