The Canadian $5 bill has famously featured the display of children playing pond hockey on the back of it since 2002. Now, snowboarding gets it chance to be on some money.
Snowboarding will be featured on the United States quarter, the U.S. Mint has announced. It's part of a four-year program to honor youth sports.
The inaugural year of the youth sports coin collection features baseball, golf, soccer, softball, and snowboarding on five quarter reverses. George Washington's head will still be featured on the obverse side of the coin, this time in what the U.S. Mint calls "civilian attire."

It's not the first time snowboarding has made its way to a U.S. coin. In 2022, a snowboarder grabbing melon was featured on the American Innovation $1 Coin representing Vermont . That recognized the invention of snowboarding. The quarter, however, features an Indy grab. Maybe next time, we get a Brock Crouch tweaked-out method taken into consideration.
