Against Colombia, Brazil started better and needed only three minutes to open the scoring. The Colombian defense slipped up, Pape won the ball back and set up Eduardo Conceição, who struck from outside the box to put Brazil ahead.
After the goal, the match became more balanced. Colombia created chances in search of an equalizer, but goalkeeper Arthur do Vale stood in their way. Brazil also had opportunities to extend the lead before halftime, but could not add to its advantage.
In the second half, Brazil began creating chances again and looked to control the attacking play. The opportunities came, but the second goal took time to arrive. In the 23rd minute, João Vitor received the pass and found the net to extend Brazil's lead.
