UCF guard Chris Johnson is reportedly set to enter the transfer portal.

This news was first reported by Sam Kayser of League Ready .

Johnson (6-foot-5, 196 pounds) averaged 6.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in roughly 16 minutes per game over the course of 32 games in his only season with the Knights. He mainly played as the backup ballhandler for starting point guard Themus Fulks and starting shooting guard Riley Kugel .

Before joining UCF, Johnson spent one season with Stephen F. Austin (2024-25) and another with Texas (2023-24).

The Houston native shot 43% from the floor, including 37% from 3-point range. He set several career highs this season, including points (17), assists (6) and steals (3). Johnson scored double-figures in eight games and had at least five assists in five games.

Johnson becomes the first Knight to enter the portal after it opened on Tuesday.

UCF is coming off a 21-12 season in which the Knights made the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2018-19 season.

The Knights already had to replace six players whose eligibility expired, led by Fulks, Kugel , Jamichael Stillwell, Devan Cambridge, George Beale Jr. and Poopha Warakulnukroh.

The departures leave UCF looking to replace 71% of its scoring production (56.9 points per game) from this season.
