Former University of Connecticut standout Paige Bueckers made WNBA history on Sunday afternoon as the Dallas Wings beat the Seattle Storm 92-70 in Dallas.
With the win, the Wings moved to 22-16 while the loss moved Seattle to 7-31.

Playing without fellow UConn alum Azzi Fudd, who is out for the season now with a knee injury, Bueckers scored 32 points on 12-of-16 shooting. She was 6-for-6 from three-point range, and also added four rebounds and four assists.
As noted by StatMuse, she's the first player in WNBA history with 30 or more points, five or more made 3-pointers and a 100 percent hit rate from beyond the arc.
The reigning WNBA's Rookie of the Year continues to be one of the best players in the league in just her second campaign.

One of the most decorated players in UConn history, Bueckers averaged 19.8 ppg for her career in Storrs. She helped the Huskies win the national title for the 12th time in 2024-25 as she averaged 19.9 ppg.

A three-time Big East Player of the Year, she was also a Naismith Award Winner, a Wooden Award winner, a three-time All-American and a winner of the Wade Trophy.

Her efforts at UConn made her the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft in 2025. She's one of seven former Huskies to be the No. 1 pick alongside Fudd, Tina Charles, Sue Bird, Maya Moore, Breanna Stewart and Diana Taurasi.
Bueckers was also recently selected to the Team USA roster for the FIBA World Cup and is tracking toward a berth on her first Olympic team. The next Olympics are in 2028 (Los Angeles).

The current group of UConn women's basketball players got their non-conference schedule for the upcoming season this week, and it's complete with 10 NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago.

While Bueckers's team won the national title, the 2025-26 Huskies lost in the Final Four to South Carolina. Head coach Geno Auriemma is clearly challenging his team in this upcoming season, similar to how Dan Hurley is challenging the men's group.
The women's team will open up the new campaign on Nov. 2 against Cornell. The full Big East Conference schedule, complete with game dates and times, should be out soon.
Until then, the group will continue to work out together before the start of official practice, which comes later in September.
