Jana El Alfy, UConn women's basketball 6-foot-5 redshirt junior center, was named Friday to the watch list for the Lisa Leslie Award.
The award, sponsored by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the WBCA , recognizes the country's top Division I center. Twenty players were named to the watch list. Leslie was a three-time All-American at USC and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015.
El Afly averaged four points and 4.1 rebounds per game last year and shot 62.8 percent from the field coming off the bench. She was a starter her first year and is only one of two remaining starters from the 2025 NCAA championship team on this year's team.
