Verhoff was originally ruled eligible over the summer, but before the season started, the decision was reversed, which meant he didn't play in UNC's first three games of the season.
This is great news for UNC as they have turned toLSUtransfer Aeron Burrell, as he beat out David Green for the kicking duties. Burrell is 2-of-4 on field goal attempts this season but missed one in the loss toClemson.
Verhoff is coming off a 2025 season in which he made 19 of 23 field goal attempts and all 20 of his extra point attempts. That led to him earning an All-ACC Honorable Mention selection for that season. He also holds the record for the longest made field goal inprogram historywith 57 yards.
