The North Carolina Tar Heels were able to end a two-game losing streak this past week when they took down Notre Dame at home on Wednesday night . Now, they are back on the road as they travel to Charlottesville to face off against Virginia.

But before that, the programs received some news regarding the game.

Due to a winter storm that is set to hit the Mid-Atlantic this weekend , Saturday’s men’s game in Charlottesville has been moved up to a noon tipoff from the previously scheduled 2 p.m. start.

The matchup between Virginia and North Carolina will air on ESPN2.

The 22nd-ranked Tar Heels are 15-4 overall and 3-3 in the ACC following Wednesday’s 91-69 win over Notre Dame.

Notre Dame shot 36% from the field and 32% from 3-point range in the loss, the fewest points North Carolina has allowed since its win against Florida State on Dec. 30 to open conference play. For a team that has spent most of ACC play getting carved up defensively, that level of resistance was long overdue .

Offensively, the Tar Heels got what they needed from their core players. Caleb Wilson had a game-high 22 points, seven rebounds and a team-high five assists. Henri Veesaar added 15 points and 12 rebounds, giving UNC a strong interior presence. Derek Dixon, in his second straight start, finished with 11 points and two assists and continued to show he can handle an expanded role.

Virginia is 16-2 overall, 5-1 in ACC play and ranked 14th in the AP Top 25. The Cavaliers are coming off a 72-68 road win over a solid SMU team that had scored 97 points against UNC in the same scenario. They are led by forward Thijs De Ridder (16.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game) and guard Malik Thomas (18.7 points and 6.3 rebounds through six ACC games).
