Union Berlin 's preparations for the 2026/27 Bundesliga season continue to raise concerns after the club extended its winless pre-season run to six matcheswith a 2-2 draw against Cagliari Calcio .
The Bundesliga side, now coached by Mauro Lustrinelli, had also suffered a 2-1 defeat to Dynamo Dresden just one day earlier, leaving them still searching for their first victory of the summer.
After a goalless first half, Cagliari took control through goals from Yael Trepy in the 49th minute and Paul Mendy in the 67th, putting the Italian side 2-0 ahead and seemingly on course for victory.
However, Union produced a late fightback. Summer signing Ilyas Ansah scored in the 85th minute to give the Berliners hope before completing his brace in stoppage time to rescue a 2-2 draw.
While the comeback prevented another defeat, die Eisernen will be hoping to find winning form quickly as they head to their training camp in Austria , with the new Bundesliga season fast approaching.
