The UNLV Rebels will take on the North Texas Mean Green on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. ET at DATCU Stadium (Denton, Texas). The Mean Green took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on the Rebels, who come in off a win.
In Week 1, UNLV strolled past the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 21-6.

Quarterback Jackson Arnold and running back Jai'Den Thomas were among the main playmakers for UNLV as the former threw for 116 yards on eight of 18 attempts and the latter rushed for 143 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. The 143 yards were his most since Aug. 23 last year, when he rushed for 147 vs. Idaho State.
UNLV was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 248 yards. They have not posted that many yards since Nov. 8, when they rushed for 320 vs. Colorado State.
Meanwhile, North Texas had to start their season on the road in Week 1, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. It's going to take some time for them to recover from the 52-16 bruising that the Indiana Hoosiers dished out. The Mean Green were apparently not fired up by the 39.5 disadvantage in the point spread heading into that one.

Running back Jahiem White put forth a good effort for the losing side as he gained 97 total yards, and also punched in one TD on the ground.
Most of the squad's points were scored by special teams, which contributed nine in total. All those points came courtesy of Dominic De Freitas: he added nine points with three field goals.
Everything came up roses for UNLV against North Texas in their most recent meeting back in Week 3 of 2022, as the team secured a 58-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
