Team USA did something wonderful for the U.S. military members stationed overseas while in Berlin for the FIBA World Cup.
The 2026 FIBA World Cup saw Team USA open their campaign with a comfortable 94-61 win over China. The U.S are eyeing their fifth consecutive Gold medal at the tournament.
Even though the tournament is in full swing, Team USA and stars like Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers took time out of their day to meet with American military personnel who are stationed in Germany.
USA Basketball shared a post featuring all the members of the USABWNT at the 2026 World Cup alongside U.S. Marines stationed in Berlin, leading to a lot of heartwarming reactions.
"It was a pleasure to welcome Berlin-based members of the U.S. Marine Corps to practice today! Thank you for your service & your support of the USABWNT!"
Some pictures from this interaction are already on social media, including a photo of a Marine with Caitlin and Paige, with the experience being described as an extremely positive one.
"So jealous of my nephew! He's stationed in Berlin in the Marines. They were invited to FIBA USA practice. What a cool experience and memory!
Caitlin made Team USA history with 14 points and 11 assists in her World Cup debut, while Bueckers also chipped in 14 points.
Team USA are also fighting for their nation on an international stage, but with a modicum of pressure that the Marines carry with them, as they are away from home and set on protecting their countrymen.
Meeting the WNBA players has to be a cool moment for them, especially with the booming popularity of the league and women's basketball over the last few years.

It's unclear whether these Marines will attend any World Cup games, but it's a safe bet to assume they might be there for a Team USA game if their schedules allow for it.
We have seen multiple American sports teams and leagues go to Berlin, and they almost always make a visit to the Marines to thank them for their service.
Team USA will be in action next on Sunday against Italy, ending the group phase with a back-to-back game against the Czech Republic exactly 24 hours later on Monday.
