After leading college football with 13 players appearing at the 2026 NFL Combine, many Texas A&M stars are predicted to hear their names called in next week's draft.
Entering just his third season at the helm in Bryan-College Station, Mike Elko has built an impressive track record of sending his players to the next level. In the 2025 NFL Draft, Shemar Stewart , Nic Scourton and Shemar Turner were selected in the first two rounds. Elko has rapidly established an NFL pipeline at Texas A&M, with multiple Aggies predicted to play on Sundays in 2026.
With less than a week remaining until the draft, here are the Texas A&M stars that USA Today NFL reporter Ayrton Ostly projected will be selected in the first two rounds :
WR KC Concepcion - Cleveland Browns (Round 1 - No. 24 overall)
Career notables:
-
ACC Rookie of the Year (2023)
-
ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year (2023)
-
FWAA Freshman All-America (2023)
-
No. 36 with 919 receiving yards (2025)
-
No. 3 with two punt return touchdowns (2025)
-
All-America honors (Sporting News, AP, AFCA, CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated)
"Cleveland gets a dynamic wide receiver with their second first-round pick in Concepcion. The Texas A&M product is the best open-field threat among these top receiving talents and could provide a skillset the Browns don't have on the roster. He'd offer immediate value as a returner and give whoever starts at quarterback another solid pass-catcher after Jerry Jeudy and Harold Fannin Jr. ," Ostly said.
IOL Chase Bisontis - Seattle Seahawks (Round 2 - No. 33 overall)
Career notables:
-
ESPN Freshman All-America (2023)
-
First-Team All-SEC (2023)
-
Third-Team All-SEC (2025)
-
Allowed just one sack through 441 pass-blocking snaps (2025)
"Seattle recouped a little more draft capital by leaving the end of the first round and Bisontis is a great consolation prize. The Seahawks boosted the interior offensive line with Grey Zabel last year and bring on a former tackle in Bisontis to shore up the other guard spot. He brings tackle experience, quick feet and consistent hands," Ostly said.
Edge Cashius Howell - Pittsburgh Steelers (Round 2 - No. 53 overall)
Career notables:
-
Led the SEC with 11.5 sacks (2025)
-
First Aggie to earn SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors (2025)
-
Most sacks by an Aggie since Myles Garrett in 2014 (2025)
-
Fourth in the SEC with 14 tackles for loss (2025)
-
All-America honors (Walter Campbell Football Foundation, Sporting News, AP, AFCA, CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated)
"Howell falls well out of the first round thanks to his outlier arm length (30 ¼ inches). The Steelers looked past that with Nick Herbig in 2023 and could do something similar with Howell here. The Aggies product is a bendy edge rusher with the burst to impact opposing offensive lines. In Pittsburgh , he could at least be a rotational pass rusher from Day 1," Ostly said.
The 2026 NFL Draft is a three-day event, beginning on Thursday, April 23, and ending on Saturday, April 25. Thursday's first round will begin at 7 p.m. CT, followed by the second round on Friday at 6 p.m. CT and the remaining selections on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT. The draft from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will be broadcast on the NFL Network, ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.
