USC Seahawks discuss winning Super Bowl with fellow Trojans
On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX . With the win, Seattle claimed its second title in franchise history.
The Seahawks had a heavy USC presence on their team. Seattle’s roster featured four Trojans: quarterback Sam Darnold , linebacker Uchenna Nwosu , and defensive linemen Leonard Williams and Brandon Pili . In addition, wide receiver/running back Velus Jones Jr. spent four years at USC before finishing his college football career at Tennessee , and the team’s strength and conditioning staff used to work with the Trojans.
Following the win, several members of the champions discussed what it meant to win a Super Bowl with fellow Trojans.
“We’re very tight,” Nwosu said . “It’s SC. You know we have a mantra, it’s called Fight On. And no matter what happens, we continue to fight through everything.”
“Shoutout to all my SC brothers and sisters here on this squad. We were able to bring home a championship.”
“The journey is what makes this moment so special,” Williams added . “A lot of those Trojans guys . . . I played with those guys at USC, I played with Sam on the Jets . It just means a lot for me to see it all come together.”
For all four USC players, this was the first title of their careers. Getting to make such an incredible memory with fellow Trojans just made it even more special for them.
