Harrison Ingram became an unrestricted free agent when the San Antonio Spurs withdrew his qualifying offer earlier this month.
Eleven days later, the Utah Jazz gave him another opportunity.
Utah announced Saturday that it signed the 23-year-old forward, although the organization did not disclose the terms of the agreement.

Given the aspirations that now exist in Salt Lake City, why exactly would the Jazz target a player who appeared in only 12 NBA games during his first two professional seasons?
Ingram's production outside of San Antonio is the answer.
The No. 48 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft spent most of his two seasons with the Austin Spurs, averaging 14.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.3 steals across 88 G League appearances.
His second season was especially impressive.
Ingram averaged 16.8 points, 12.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists across 32 appearances in 2025-26 while shooting 54.8% from the field. He also earned G League Player of the Week honors in February after averaging 22.2 points, 13.4 rebounds and 7.4 assists during a five-game stretch.

Those numbers made San Antonio's decision to withdraw his qualifying offer somewhat surprising ... though the Spurs had reasons to move on.
Ingram never managed to translate his success in Austin into a consistent role with the NBA club. He appeared in just seven games last season, averaging 1.6 points and 0.4 rebounds while receiving limited opportunities to prove his production could carry over.
His perimeter shooting also remains a question.
Ingram made 33.3% of his 3.6 attempts per game last season, which doesn't quite support the prototypical three-and-D projection that followed him out of North Carolina.

Luckily for Ingram, Utah doesn't need him to arrive as a finished product.
The Jazz have already assembled a strong, young roster and can afford to evaluate a 6-foot-5, 230-pound forward whose skills have already stood out at the developmental level.
His ability to contribute in several areas without requiring a high volume of shots gives him a realistic path toward earning a role if he can improve his outside shooting.
The undisclosed contract terms leave Ingram's immediate place on the roster unclear, especially with Utah already carrying a crowded group entering training camp.
But the logic behind the signing isn't difficult to understand.

San Antonio decided Ingram's G League production wasn't enough to justify another roster spot, while Utah decided it was worth another look.
Now Ingram has another opportunity to prove those numbers can follow him to the NBA.
