- UTSA vs Florida Atlantic Prediction: Can the Owls Ruin the Roadrunner Run?
Do you like points? Do you enjoy offense? Do you have fun watching one team that's in the College Football Playoff mix try to stay alive against a home team looking to become bowl eligible? Of course you do – that's why you're here.
UTSA lost to Texas, and that's been it. It won all seven games, and if it can keep on rolling and win out, it'll throw its hat into the CFP ring with a shot to get in as the top Group of Six champion – but there's a long
way to go before that.
Florida Atlantic puts up lots of points and gives up lots of points, including a wild 48-41 firefight with the team tied with UTSA for the American lead, North Texas. Win, and be bowl eligible for the first time since 2020.

Why UTSA Will Win
UTSA can more than keep up the pace.
FIU was able to keep the Florida Atlantic offense from going off, but that's about it. Army was okay against the Owls, too, but it was able to run wild in a 56-24 win.
UTSA doesn't always crank up the offense – the defense is able to hold up enough to not have to open up the attack – and should go off against a Florida Atlantic defense that allows 468 yards and 36 points per game.
FAU has the nation's second-worst run defense, and UTSA is 7-0 when running for at least 110 yards. The Roadrunners average over five yards per carry.

Why Florida Atlantic Will Win
Yeah, UTSA can hang with most offenses, but Colorado State rolled up 500 yards, and Texas State put up 481 against the Roadrunner defense. UTSA allowed 400 yards or more five times – that's just a normal day for the Owl attack.
What can stop FAU? Turnovers. The team is 0-3 when giving the ball away multiple times, with eight giveaways in the three losses and just one in the five wins. UTSA is hit or miss with the takeaways, with 11 in three games.
If Owl quarterback Caden Veltkamp gets hot, and doesn't give the ball away, yeah, UTSA might keep up for a while, but it'll have to press.
UTSA vs Florida Atlantic Prediction, Betting Lines
This will be a blast.
Both teams will open it up and hit the other with long scoring drives, with the lack of a UTSA pass rush being a problem as the game goes on. When things need to slow down late, the Roadrunners will gear down with the ground game to finally get control.
