Monegasque tennis player Valentin Vacherot is enjoying a breakout run in his US Open main-draw debut, overcoming a tough summer to reach the third round.
After a stress fracture in his foot at the French Open forced him to miss Wimbledon, Vacherot initially struggled upon his return, suffering opening-round exits at Kitzbühel, Montreal, and Cincinnati.
However, the world No. 23 has found his rhythm in Flushing Meadows, relying on a dominant service game to defeat Aleksandar Kovacevic in straight sets before fighting past Kamil Majchrzak in four sets while blasting a total of 31 aces across both matches.
Next up, Vacherot faces a massive test against the tournament's No. 11 seed, Frances Tiafoe, in their first-ever career meeting.
While Vacherot has dropped only one set all tournament, he will have to contend with a red-hot Tiafoe, who recently reached the Cincinnati final and cruised through his second-round match against Rei Sakamoto.

Vacherot's girlfriend is Emily Snyder, an American sports business professional. The couple met in Monaco while she was studying abroad and went public with their relationship in 2023.
Snyder, an undergraduate alumna of UNC Chapel Hill, moved to Monaco to complete her Master's degree in Sports Business Management at the International University of Monaco. She has since become a fixture in his player's box, famously cheering him on during his historic, fairy-tale championship run at the Shanghai Masters.
Vacherot has frequently credited her as a major pillar of support, even noting that her background in sports business has helped him manage his growing public profile and social media presence as he climbs the ATP rankings.
Valentin Vacherot's Family: Everything To Know About His Parents & Siblings
Tennis is deeply embedded in Vacherot's bloodline, starting with his parents, Josse and Nadine Vacherot, who fittingly first met at a tennis club. His mother, Nadine, is a dedicated tennis teacher at the prestigious Monte-Carlo Country Club.
Vacherot has frequently shared that he felt he had "no choice" but to pick up a racket because his parents and extended family, including his aunt, former pro Virginie Paquet, and his cousin, active ATP pro Arthur Rinderknech, were entirely consumed by the sport.
Vacherot has three siblings: Kelvine Balleret, Peggy Vacherot, and Benjamin Balleret. Additionally, one of his sisters continues the family legacy by working at a tennis club.
Who Is Valentin Vacherot's Coach?
Vacherot's current coach is his older half-brother, Benjamin Balleret. He is a former professional tennis player from Monaco who famously reached a career-high ranking of world No. 204 and played against Roger Federer at the 2006 Monte-Carlo Masters.
He has been coaching Vacherot full-time since 2022. Before guiding his brother's breakout onto the main ATP Tour, Balleret built up his coaching resume by working with high-profile players like Gilles Muller and doubles standout Pierre-Hugues Herbert.
Vacherot is currently ranked world No. 23 in the official PIF ATP Singles Rankings.
