- The Vikings Corner Crew Gets a New Player

So far, the Vikings corners have been playing some very good football. Maybe the add will make things even more formidable.
Minnesota's official social media account offers the word : "The #Vikings have signed CB Natrone Brooks to the practice squad." To get into game action, Brooks will need to get bumped from the practice squad, but he's at least got the chance to do so now that he's back in the team's orbit.
Already, Mr. Brooks has found employment in the Twin Cities.
GM Nolan Teasley signed him earlier in the '26 season, On October 1st, the young corner got tossed onto the practice squad. Minnesota then moved on on October 6th, clearing a slot for the practice squad for someone else. Clearly, Brooks made an impression, allowing him to get tossed back into the mix now that the numbers work to get another corner into the mix.
On a basic level, Brooks has been involved in three roster moves with the Vikings in October alone. He's likely looking to see the back and forth calm down as he finds a more lasting spot in Minnesota.

Of those names, the final two represent guys who are participating in some jostling for playing time. Vaughn, a lanky sophomore, had some terrific reps on special teams in Week 4 and Week 5, games that Demmings missed due to injury. Quite possibly, Vaughn will have done enough to continue demanding playing time on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the practice squad boasts De'Veawn Armstead as the other Vikings corner who could demand playing time. Natrone Brooks will need to prove more formidable than his new teammate to crack the game roster.
At 5'11" and 175 pounds, Brooks is built like a slot corner. He has played in 26 games in his NFL career, picking up work with the Falcons from 2024 to 2025. Otherwise, he had a brief stay on Detroit's practice squad in 2026 but didn't find a permanent home in Motown.

Another sneaky detail is that Natrone Brooks has a history as a returner. His 16 career kickoff returns have gone for a combined 310 yards, working out to a modest 19.4 per-return average. More broadly, Brooks boasts 357 snaps on special teams in his career, easily outpacing the 115 snaps he offered on defense.
So, keep Matt Daniels' end of things tucked away in the back of your mind.
Nolan Teasley tends to be a tinkerer. Pretty consistently, the GM can be found grinding the bottom of the roster, evidently seeking to uncover a diamond in the rough and/or shore up the needed depth. Maybe the new Vikings corner will end up being a spiffy add who proves to be an underrated piece of the puzzle.
Next up for the Minnesota Vikings is a Week 7 game against the Indianapolis Colts, a 2-4 team that just fired its GM. Pulling off the win means climbing up to 6-0.
