Bayern Munich supporters will have to remain patient when it comes to Vincent Kompany's return to the touchline, with Max Eberl emphasizing that the head coach's health remains the absolute priority.
The good news is that Kompany has been discharged from the hospital, with Bayern's sporting director expressing his relief at the development. However, there is still no definitive timeline for when the Belgian will return to Säbener Straße, let alone resume his coaching duties.
Eberl explained that Kompany will spend the coming days focusing entirely on his recovery, with the club monitoring his progress on a day-by-day basis rather than setting an arbitrary deadline.
"The aim is for him to return once he has fully recovered. The fact that he's now been discharged from hospital is fantastic news, and we're all delighted about it. It's the most important thing, because it shows that his condition is stable. Now the focus is on recovery and rest. Essentially, his rehabilitation over the coming days will be about taking things easy and giving himself time to recover. We'll then assess the situation day by day, without putting a specific timeframe on it. I deliberately spoke about weeks from the very beginning to avoid creating that kind of pressure," said Eberl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ). "For now, he needs to recover fully. Once he's completely recovered and the doctors say, 'Okay, things are looking good now,' I'm fairly certain he'll be back at Säbener Straße relatively quickly."
Now that Kompany has been released, Bayern Munich will have a better idea of how his treatment will work.
"It's a meningeal irritation that caused this incident on Friday. He will now rest and take medication," said Eberl (as captured by the British Broadcasting Company ). "I am very confident that he will be back on the touchline, operating at 100% very soon."
With Der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund approaching, Aaron Danks and the coaching staff will continue handling preparations in Kompany's absence.
Quick changes could be made to the plan, but it appears that things will progress without any rush. Bayern Munich does not want to take any unnecessary risks.
