Lachlan Olbrich , a standout during Golden State 's recent NBA Summer League championship, has agreed to sign a professional contract overseas. According to the East Asia Super League (EASL), Olbrich will be joining Alvark Tokyo on a one-year deal.
Although he cooled down a bit to end his stint with Golden State, Olbrich showed impressive signs throughout the summer, going 7-for-7 from the field in his strongest showing , scoring 21 points to go along with six rebounds, one assist and one steal. Olbrich, an Australian forward who spent 37 games with the Chicago Bulls at the NBA level last season will have to prove himself worthy of an NBA opportunity once more.
Although the Warriors and 13 other NBA teams had two-way spots available, the former No. 55 overall pick may have found the best fit in Japan. According to ESPN, Olbrich's contract "makes him among the highest-paid imports in the league."
Still just 22 years old, Olbrich will have the chance to pursue the NBA once more next year.
