Washington Wizards select Wisconsin guard in latest NBA Mock Draft
In a post-NBA draft lottery mock draft, Wisconsin Badgers guard Nick Boyd was selected No. 60 overall.
With only 60 picks in the draft, The Athletic's Sam Vecenie believes there's a strong chance Wisconsin could see its former 25-year old point guard be taken to close things out.
Currently, the Washington Wizards hold the No. 60 overall pick thanks to a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder .
One of the major concerns with Boyd going into the draft is his age . The Garnerville, NY, native began his collegiate career during the 2020-21 season at Florida Atlantic.
Boyd was an Owl until the 2024-25 season when he transferred to San Diego State. After just one season with the Aztecs he re-entered the portal and came to Madison.
Keep in mind, Vecenie has a 19-year old being selected in the second round. Boyd is the oldest player drafted, while a pair of 18-year-olds are NBA-bound in this mock draft.
At the end of the day, Boyd is Wisconsin's only shot at having a player drafted this year. John Blackwell will be draft-bound in 2027 as he decided he's best suited at Duke for his senior campaign rather than declaring for the draft alongside Boyd.
