Texas A&M's future starting quarterback question will be answered after redshirt junior Marcel Reed , who is entering his second full starting season, departs the program; until then, several names are in the running, including current backup Brady Hart. However, looking past the 2027 season, 2028 five-star QB and Texas A&M commit Donald Trabon III will be in the conversation.
When grading a quarterback this early in his career, the ability to complete 18-yard out routes, requiring NFL-level touch and anticipation, is, and should be, what writers in my position should look for when judging any young signal caller's ceiling. A handful of games into his junior season at Cass Technical, Donald Tabron can seemingly make every throw, especially the out route, and should be considered the top-ranked QB by this time next year.

Ahead of OC Holmon Wiggins' first season at the helm, how the Aggies' passing game will look is still up in the air, but after Tabron committed to Texas A&M over several blue-blood programs, his conversations with Wiggins and QB coach Joey Lynch proves that A&M's offense is quarterback friendly, especially given the talent at wide receiver for years to come just by looking at the 2027 additions.
This week, Cass Tech's Thursday game included one of the best throws you'll see all weekend, as Donald Tabron delivered a perfect throw to receiver Marquell Evans that nearly scored a touchdown, showing off his elite touch in the process. Cass Tech defeated Granville on the road 48-21, and Tabron is expected to make his way back to College Station in the coming weeks.
