Brooklyn Nets forward Julius Randle drew a flopping technical foul during Tuesday night's game against the Boston Celtics, giving Jayson Tatum a free throw in the second quarter at TD Garden.
Officials called the non-unsportsmanlike technical at the 1:18 mark after Randle went down near the paint during a Nolan Traore drive. The call came moments after Chaney Johnson's putback made it 59-53 Brooklyn, and Tatum's ensuing free throw trimmed the Nets' lead to five.
ClutchPoints shared the NBC Sports Boston replay on X, formerly Twitter, underscoring the sequence that prompted the immediate ruling.

Randle entered the night averaging 22.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists through his first three games with the Nets after joining Brooklyn during the offseason.
His strong start included a 33-point debut, giving the Nets an early glimpse of his offensive role.
The veteran struggled offensively early against the Celtics, shooting 2-for-10 at one point before the flopping call added another notable moment to a physical matchup. The second quarter also featured technical fouls involving Noah Clowney and Mitchell Robinson.
Boston later received another flopping technical when rookie Baylor Scheierman was whistled, underscoring how closely officials were policing embellishment during the game.
Under the NBA's current rule, an in-game flop results in a non-unsportsmanlike technical and one free throw for the opposing team.
Brooklyn led 61-56 at halftime before Boston rallied in the second half. The Nets later held a 109-107 lead with 2:16 remaining in the fourth quarter as they pushed for their first win of the season.
Randle's violation stood out as one of the game's clearest examples of the league enforcing its anti-flopping emphasis in real time.
