Samford is also 0-1 after falling 22-10 to North Alabama in the debut of new head coach John Grass. Oregon State transfer Gabari Johnson threw for 245 yards and a touchdown in the loss, but the Bulldogs struggled to establish a running game and allowed six sacks. Thursday will be the first-ever meeting between Southern Illinois and Samford, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on ESPN+.
