TE Notes:It was longer and more painful than anybody expected, but Colston Lovelandis the TE4 by average PPR points over the past three weeks. He has stacked up 68.3 percent of his fantasy production during that timespan. TE4 should be much more the norm going forward. … Facing a Texans defense that has been strong up the seam, Isaiah Likelyhad his quietest game in weeks in J.J. McCarthy's starting debut for the Giants. We will consider it small-sample noise heading into an increasingly-appealing Eagles matchup. … Harold Fanninis suddenly the TE6 by average fantasy points on the strength on his monster Weeks 7 and 8. It appears Deshaun Watson is learning the same thing the Browns' various 2025 starters did: This is a safe, easy place to deposit the football. Even if Watson (concussion) sits, Shedeur Sanders could easily keep the good times rolling vs. a Saints defense struggling up the seam. … Some kind of Sam LaPortacold snap was probably inevitable. Hopefully a matchup with a Dolphins defense surrendering the third most tight end fantasy points is what he needs to heat back up.
Tyler Warrenhas not been immune from the Colts' offensive collapse. He at least had the decency to command 10 Week 8 targets. That didn't take him very far against the Jags' elite defense. It could go considerably farther vs. the Cowboys' awful unit. We have to keep firing Warren up as a usage-based TE1. … Tucker Krafthas maintained a high floor and seems to be juicing his touchdown odds. We still aren't getting quite the player we wanted, but very few fantasy players are in position to bench the Packers' seam man. … Dalton Kincaidcame off bye to his most yards since Week 2 (86). He is almost certainly not going to repeat against a Vikings defense allowing the fewest tight end fantasy points, but quick outs to the tight end could be one way the Bills counteract Brian Flores' havoc-creating defense. … It has been a season of diminishing returns for Juwan Johnson, who will soon be fighting for targets with a returning Jordyn Tyson. The Browns are not an appealing Week 9 matchup.
Mason Taylorhas established a floor. With Kenyon Sadiqaround to compete for deeper looks, however, we would not expect the same to be true of a Taylor ceiling any time soon. … The Tyler Higbeescam has predictably gone bust as the Rams shuffle through tight ends behind their undermanned receiver group. Higbee always comes with a little upside, but the same is not true of his floor, which has been established at 0.0. … Having quietly caught at least four passes in three straight games and four of his past five, the TE2 time is now for Greg Dulcichagainst a Lions defense coughing up far and away the most tight end fantasy points. … The Commanders are going to have to throw to keep up with the Rams. I expect Chig Okonkwoto bounce back from a quiet Week 8 brought on by a non-competitive Eagles side. … Brenton Strangehas a strong target share. It's also not amounting to as much as we would like in an offense where Trevor Lawrence has attempted fewer than 30 passes in 5-of-7 starts. … With Hunter Henrybattling a foot injury, third-round Patriots rookie Eli Raridonbecomes an intriguing, big-play based TE2 dart throw. It must be noted that the Packers have been stingy up the seam.
