What's wrong with the Seahawks' injured offensive tackles?
At face value, one could understand why someone would favor the powerful Seattle Seahawks to overcome the Los Angeles Rams in this Sunday night's NFC title game. Seattle is playing at home and has a dominant roster capable of overcoming its quarterback's (Sam Darnold) limitations . But injuries to the Seahawks ' offensive line, especially at the tackle spot, might throw a wrench in this thought process.
It's not enough that starting left tackle Charles Cross is dealing with a foot injury. So is his backup, Josh Jones (knee, ankle), as well as third-stringer Amari Kight (knee). The Seahawks sound confident that Cross will be able to play, but it seems evident that he will be somewhat hampered. And if his backups are also injured, the Seahawks don't have much recourse in the biggest game of the season so far if Cross proves to be ineffective.
Oh, and the Seahawks' best pass-protection running back, Zach Charbonnet , is also out for the season. Gulp:
We'll see how the Seahawks manage this tricky injury situation up front. It just might determine whether they get a shot to win the second Super Bowl title in franchise history.
