Texas A&M enters the SEC Tournament as one of the league's most compelling late‑season turnarounds, and their opening matchup against Auburn is the first step in a postseason climb they can't afford to stumble on. At 14–11 overall and 7–9 in SEC play, the Aggies have fought their way back onto the NCAA Tournament bubble after a 1–8 conference start, giving the selection committee something to think about with a five‑game winning streak fueled by efficiency and renewed confidence.
Ny'Ceara Pryor, recently named to the All‑SEC teams , continues to drive the Aggies' resurgence with her pace, playmaking, and ability to control the game on both ends. Fatmata Janneh has been a force inside, averaging a double‑double with 12 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. As a group, A&M has been remarkably efficient during its winning stretch, shooting 56.3% from the field and 55.0% from three while playing its most connected basketball of the season.

Auburn arrives in Greenville trending in the opposite direction. The Tigers have dropped 10 of their last 12 games and closed the regular season with a 29‑point loss to Arkansas, their third straight defeat. With a 3–13 SEC record, their only path to extending the season is an unlikely tournament run, and that begins with trying to slow down an A&M team that beat them 81–63 in Reed Arena earlier this year.
Tuesday marks the 22nd meeting between the programs, with Texas A&M holding an 18–3 advantage in the series. Auburn won the previous two matchups before this season, but the Aggies controlled the first meeting and enter this one with far more momentum. For A&M, the stakes are clear: they remain on the outside looking in, and every win in Greenville strengthens their résumé. A loss would likely end their NCAA Tournament hopes, while a win keeps their March push alive.
