The Chicago White Sox turned their matchup with the Kansas City Royals into a franchise history night, and Jacob Gonzalez and Tristan Peters stood right in the middle of it. Chicago crushed Kansas City, 22-1, in a game that felt unreal by the middle innings.

According to MLB.com's Sarah Langs, Miguel Vargas , together with Peters and Gonzalez each drove in at least five runs. That made this only the second time since RBI became official in 1920 that the White Sox had three players record five or more RBI in the same game .
The only other time came on April 23, 1955. Sherm Lollar, Minnie Miñoso, and Bob Nieman did it that day, when the White Sox erupted for 29 runs. Nearly 70 years later, Chicago finally added another group to that rare line. It was no ordinary blowout, but a double-take box score.
Tristan Peters delivered the loudest swing. His grand slam helped turn the game into a full blowout and gave White Sox fans one of the clearest highlights of the night. Miguel Vargas kept the pressure on, while Jacob Gonzalez added his own damage. Together, they gave Chicago a night that belonged in the record book, not just the box score.
White Sox keep building momentum in AL Central
The timing matters too, with the White Sox now sitting at 42-38 and holding the AL Central lead . That gives this win more weight than a normal June blowout. Chicago did not just enjoy a fun offensive explosion. It showed it has a real chance to keep control of the division if the lineup keeps producing.

The Royals, meanwhile, fell to 34-49 and remain fifth in the division , with two more games left in the series. Still, this opener left a mark. A 22-1 loss is hard to brush aside, and it can change the tone of a series fast.
For White Sox fans, this was the kind of night that makes a season feel bigger. History showed up, the lineup answered, and Chicago now gets two more chances to prove this was more than one wild storm.
