Losing on the final play is tough, but having a potential game-winning touchdown erased by a penalty makes the defeat even harder to take. This was the situation for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Denver Broncos, and Patrick Mahomes' wife, Brittany Mahomes, did not hold back when reacting to the call.
Her post brought referee bias back into the conversation, and Hall of Fame receiver Cris Carter had something to say about it.

Cris Carter Mocks Patrick Mahomes' Wife Over NFL Referee Claims
Speaking as a co-host on the Fully Loaded podcast, Carter pushed back on Brittany's suggestion that officials make certain calls against Kansas City simply because it is the Chiefs.
The discussion followed Denver's 28-24 win over Kansas City on Nov. 1, when a late penalty erased what appeared to be a game-winning touchdown.
With four seconds remaining, Mahomes appeared to find Rashee Rice for the game-winning touchdown, but a false-start penalty on right tackle Jaylon Moore nullified the play.
Brittany criticized the decision on Instagram Stories, writing, "You can't tell me you call that on a game-winning TD, oh wait yeah, I can cause it's us. That was the weakest call I have ever seen, you can't tell me otherwise."

Carter questioned the idea that the Chiefs receive unfair treatment from officials.
"Like, I didn't see the tackle move. I didn't see that procedure call. Patrick Mahomes' wife, she's the same thing. She was on Instagram or somewhere on social media, letting them know that only gets called against Kansas City because the whole world, you know, is tilted against them," he said.
He then took a personal jab at Brittany's claim that the Chiefs face unfair treatment.
"I mean, ever since she met Kansas City, her whole world has been on the uptick. But the whole world, everybody's keeping her down," Carter said.
Carter also turned to the Broncos' recent comeback wins, crediting Bo Nix's fourth-quarter play and the team culture under coach Sean Payton. However, he challenged the young quarterback to improve his performance earlier in games.

"At some point, year three, year four, you got to start putting it together as a player. And be responsible for the first quarter, second quarter and that third quarter, which might lead to a fourth-quarter comeback," Carter said.
He argued that Denver's repeated need for late rallies points to areas Nix must address. Right now, Nix sits 27th in PFN NFL QB Impact
ranking, with a grade of 69. He has 9 touchdowns and 3 interceptions this season for 1,493 passing yards.
Carter still credited the Broncos as a collective unit before mentioning that he considers Kansas City the better team.

"But collectively, they [Broncos] are a good team, and they are going to be in this until the end at AFC to decide who goes to the Super Bowl. But I believe Kansas City is still a little bit better than them," Carter said.
His comments came as the Chiefs faced questions about the late penalty, while Brittany's post added another public dispute to the debate over NFL officiating.
