Why AJ Pierzynski believes Yankees are in 'good spot' despite Aaron Judge injury appeared first on ClutchPoints . Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here .
The New York Yankees have been up and down of late, currently sitting at 36-24 after a recent loss to the Cleveland Guardians . The Yankees are trying to weather the storm as Aaron Judge is listed as being day to day due to a bruise to his ribcage area.
However, one person not concerned about the Yankees, regardless of whether or not Judge misses time, is former MLB pitcher AJ Pierzynski.
"The Yankees are in a good spot because the AL is not very good. You have the Rays and them, and then the rest of the AL is kind of (bad)… the Mariners are hot now, but they still have room to play with here," said Pierzynski, per Foul Territory on X, formerly Twitter.
Indeed, the AL has been clearly the worst of the two leagues in the MLB this season, which certainly bodes well for the Yankees as they try to hold down the fort in a potential extended Judge absence.
There are currently three teams in the NL who have more wins than the Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays , who are tied for the most in the AL with 36.
Meanwhile, Judge has been playing at a borderline MVP level for the Yankees this season, and the team would certainly like to have him back sooner rather than later, as some teams, such as the Mariners, as Pierzynski pointed out, are starting to generate some steam.
In any case, the Yankees will next hit the field for another game against the Guardians on Wednesday evening at 7:05 pm ET from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
