Why did Guardians send down CJ Kayfus?
Kayfus wasn't hitting enough early on, and his defense wasn't delivering.
He started the season just 4-for-22, a .182 average.
And with Kyle Manzardo and Rhys Hoskins busy at first base and DH, Kayfus was just playing corner outfield spots, where he isn't the most graceful.
With Valera back from injury, there'd be even less time for Kayfus.
Where was George Valera?
Valera wasn't ready for the start of the MLB season due to injury.
He's ready now.
He hit two home runs in 41 at bats at the and of last regular season -- and then was 2-for-7 with a home run in the playoffs.
He's a natural outfielder, so this move makes sense for Cleveland's roster construction.
