Why Jayson Tatum Isn't Playing Tonight
Tatum is getting the night off for rest.
Tatum has already logged 246 minutes this season, the 16th-highest total in the NBA . He also played in both games of Boston's most recent back-to-back, including Monday's loss to the Houston Rockets.
After Tatum appeared in just 16 games last season while recovering from a torn Achilles, Boston will likely be mindful of his workload moving forward.
The Celtics will also be without Devin Carter against the Bucks. Payton Pritchard is questionable with a right shoulder contusion.
The Celtics enter Wednesday's matchup with a 5-2 record, good for third place in the Eastern Conference.
At 1-6, the Bucks are tied with the Brooklyn Nets for the worst record in the conference.
After Wednesday's game, the Celtics will embark on a four-game Eastern Conference road trip, with stops in Charlotte, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Toronto.
The Celtics will return home to host the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, Nov. 15.
