Mikey Moore was a popular player during his loan spell at Rangers last season.
The teenager was a slow burner during his early performances at Ibrox after joining on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.
But, by the end of his spell, he had contributed seven goals and three assists in 33 Scottish Premiership outings.
The Gers attempted to bring Moore back to Ibrox for the 2026/27 campaign, but he started the campaign in Spurs' first team.
The 19-year-old then completed a move to Bundesliga side Cologne when Spurs signed attacking reinforcements.
However, for former Rangers defender Richard Foster there was a bone of contention he had around Moore involving Findlay Curtis.
What did Richard Foster say about Mikey Moore's Rangers loan?
Curtis has been involved prominently under Derek McInnes this season at Ibrox.
The 20-year-old has 10 Premiership appearances to his name, though six of those ha
Curtis' exposure to first-team football at Rangers has led to a first call-up to Scotland's senior side.
The youngster is part of Sebastien Pocognoli's squad for upcoming Nations League fixtures with North Macedonia and Switzerland.
However, last season he was sent on loan to Kilmarnock having found his route to the first team blocked, in part, by Moore's loan.
Foster, speaking on the Go Radio Football Show , cannot fathom why Rangers signed Moore rather than blooding their own young talent.
The former Gers defender said: "That's a bone of contention for me, last season I'm not sure Mikey Moore at the start was much better than Findlay Curtis.
"So, I would always be inclined to promote our own if they came through the Rangers academy, promote him, why would you further or promote the career of an English player or player at an English club?
"I didn't understand that. You want him to play more, but younger players they do need to be managed, especially in that pressure cooker that is playing in the Old Firm.
"If you put him in there every week it does become draining, for everybody but especially for the younger ones."
How Rangers could yet offer Mikey Moore January escape route amid complete 'mess' Everyone benefitted from Moore and Curtis situation at Rangers?
In theory, Foster is right in what he is saying.
If you have a young talent who you want to blood for the first team, then it absolutely makes sense to get them exposed to the pressure cooker at Ibrox.
But, in this scenario, it is hard to find anyone who did not really benefit from the arrangment.
Rangers clearly felt Curtis could do with regular football elsewhere, and he got plenty of gametime at Killie.
Similarly, Moore was not going to get a look in at Tottenham, but earned plenty of valuable minutes at Rangers to further his education.
Now, Curtis is a member of McInnes' squad and looks to be on a really good trajectory.
So, it worked out reasonably for everyone didn't it?
