Running back Raheem Mostert endured a frustrating season in Las Vegas after signing with the Raiders for a year. After playing second fiddle to star running back Ashton Jeanty all season, Mostert, who has spent time with eight different franchises in his journeyman career, is once again a free agent.
After an 11-year stay in the league, Mostert is entering the twilight of his career after turning 34 in April.
He had his most productive season in the NFL in 2023 in Miami when he managed 1,012 rushing yards on 209 carries, resulting in 18 touchdowns, while adding 175 receiving yards on 25 catches and three scores. He earned his first Pro Bowl selection after leading the league in rushing touchdowns.
The following season, his production tailed off sharply, leading to his release by the Dolphins . During his sole season in Las Vegas behind Ashton Jeanty , Mostert's production declined further. He rushed for only 104 yards on 22 carries, with no scores, and added 70 receiving yards on 12 receptions.
During an appearance on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" in March, Mostert revealed that he was not thinking about retiring just yet.

"I definitely want to keep playing. You know? Why not? You know, I feel good, feel great. Didn't take as much beating last season. So, want to continue to keep playing," Mostert said.
The running back, who has earned a reputation as a kick return specialist, went undrafted during the 2015 NFL Draft and bounced around the league. His most stable moments in the league came when he played for the San Francisco 49ers between 2016 and 2021 and the Miami Dolphins between 2022 and 2024.
Mostert further divided opinion among fans and analysts with his harsh criticism of former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, who is now the Los Angeles Chargers ' offensive coordinator.

"When you're dealing with a coach that's so nonchalant, laid back, wants to be, you know, the catalyst behind being a player's coach, it kind of shifts that organization and the pivot within that system," Mostert said. "It can work for other, smaller teams, possibly."
"But when you're dealing with something like that, as a player, you're like, no, I need somebody, you know, tough that's going to lay the hammer down when it needs to be down, and tell other players to get in line," Mostert added. "When you don't have that impact can definitely be detrimental."
In his NFL career, Mostert has registered 3,895 rushing yards on 781 carries, resulting in 34 touchdowns. He also has 969 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 123 receptions.
Since he is 34 years old, there is a high possibility that Mostert might never play another snap in the NFL, as teams tend to avoid signing older running backs.
