Donley felt somewhat hard done by this summer, but has clearly put his head down and cracked on with things at Luton.
The attacker played several times in front of De Zerbi over pre-season, who may have given the Hotspur Way product false hope.

"Then a few of the lads came back from the World Cup, and so then I was kind of pushed away a little bit. Towards the end of the window, I had a clear idea of what I was going to be doing.
"They don't really give you a pathway. It's about getting minutes. I'm still young, so it's about doing well and going back next year and showing progress."
Donley has had a good start under Jack Wilshere at Luton, but simply needs to keep it up if he is going to be given any chance of playing for Spurs in the future.
