Wisconsin basketball guard suddenly granted fifth year of eligibility
Despite the regular season rapidly approaching, the Wisconsin Badgers are still trying to fill out their roster ahead of Greg Gard' s 12th year at the helm. In an offseason that has so far seen seven players join the program, news of guard Braeden Carrington's imminent return recently broke.
Last season, Carrington averaged 8.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists on a 40.8% field goal rate for a team that went 24-10 before crashing out in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. While Carrington didn't start a game for the Badgers last season, he averaged 18.1 minutes per game and had a meaningful role in each game. Assuming Carrington is welcomed back to the Badgers, he would join one of the nation's most veteran squads. The Badgers have six seniors and seven upperclassmen on the roster without him.
