Hosted by Tyler Lochte and Ahmed Ghafir on the next episode of DC Roundtable diving into the Washington Wizards ahead of the final stretch of the offseason.
Yet the Wizards were back in the headlines last week after making a notable roster move after announcing a trade that sent Julian Reese to the Denver Nuggets , where he was quickly waived once official, and Cam Whitmore to the Cleveland Cavaliers , where he also could be waived in the coming days. Yet the Wizards added Tre Mann in the deal, a trade that potentially filled the position that general manager Will Dawkins was eyeing to fill.

Is Mann the right fit in Washington? Do the departures of Whitmore and Reese make sense? Where do the Wizards stand heading into September? Washington can lean on familiarity with its latest roster addition given he began his NBA career as a first round pick with the Oklahoma City Thunder when Will Dawkins was still with the organization, but after a lackluster few seasons, what does Mann add to the Wizards' 2026-27 roster? What can he add to the point guard rotation that also includes Trae Young and Bub Carrington controlling the bulk of the minutes, alongside a roster that could feature multiple wings on the ball like AJ Dybantsa and Will Riley .
With a roster spot still left to fill, the front office now has the same question to answer that they were presented with prior to the trade, but there could be room for Will Dawkins and company to evaluate the full market rather than a specific position. We explain whether the Wizards have a true roster need now that Mann is here.
Yet with a two way spot also now left to fill for Dawkins, the Wizards have an opportunity to get creative. After drawing intrigue as a candidate for the final roster spot, is Reece Beekman a shoe-in to become the next roster addition? Is there a drawback to adding the Summer League standout? With Jamir Watkins sidelined long-term, we explain why Beekman is the most sensible addition for the front office moving forward.
