The Worcester Red Sox made a pair of transactions on Tuesday , including activating longtime MLB reliever Tommy Kahnle .
The 36-year-old right-hander signed a minor-league deal with the Red Sox in March.
"Some transaction news: RHP Tommy Kahnle has been activated by the Worcester Red Sox. RHP Jedixson Paez, after being returned by the White Sox , has been assigned to Portland and appears to have been activated," the SoxProspects.com account posted on Bluesky.
Kahnle went 1-5 with a career-high nine saves, 4.43 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 50 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched (66 games) with the Detroit Tigers during the 2025 campaign.
He's gone 11-19 with a 3.61 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 502 strikeouts across 436 2/3 big league innings covering 456 career games.
