As expected, Xavier's backcourt will look a lot different next season.
On Tuesday, March 17, reports came in that Xavier point guards All Wright and Roddie Anderson III will enter the NCAA's transfer portal. Though players can't officially go into the transfer portal until it opens on April 7 , several throughout college basketball are announcing their intention to hit the open market after many seasons came to an end during conference tournament week.

Travis Branham of 247Sports reported that Anderson intends to hit the transfer portal. Joe Tipton of On3Sports followed with the same news about Wright.
Anderson and Wright are the first dominoes to fall in what should be a busy offseason for Xavier after its season ended at 15-18 overall with a loss to UConn in the Big East Tournament Quarterfinals March 12.

There are now six Musketeers with eligibility remaining: Jovan Milicevic, Gabriel Pozzato, Pape N'Diaye, Anthony Robinson, Mier Panoamand Kason Westphal.

Anderson was the final player added to Xavier's 2025 roster when he committed to the Musketeers out of the portal in May 2024.
Anderson had previous stops at UC-San Diego (2023) and Boise State (2024). He redshirted last season and was the only player on Xavier's NCAA Tournament roster that stayed with the Musketeers through the coaching change from Sean Miller to Richard Pitino.
Anderson appeared in all 33 games this season, making five starts. He averaged 10.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He shot 39.8% from the field and 31.4% from 3-point range. Defensively, Anderson had a team-high 44 steals.
Anderson recorded back-to-back 20-point games for Xavier down the stretch in a road loss to Providence Feb. 25 and a home win over Georgetown Feb. 28. He tallied a career-high 29 points in Xavier's home loss to Santa Clara Nov. 10 and had 28 in a win over St. Francis Dec. 1.

Wright, a sophomore who transferred from Valparaiso, committed to Xavier through the portal just a few days into Richard Pitino's tenure as head coach. Wright was on a visit during Pitino's formal introduction on April 1.
Wright was the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year in 2025 at Valparaiso. He appeared in all 33 games and made 28 starts for the Musketeers, but played fewer minutes than Anderson off the bench.
He averaged 7.5 points and 2 assists per game while shooting 42.2% from 3-point range. Wright connected on 38 triples over the year, but 22 came during non-conference play.

He had a season-high 20 points in Xavier's win over Old Dominion and combined for 31 points in two Charleston Classic contests .

Wright scored in double figures three times during Big East play, tallying 19 in a win over Marquette Feb. 14 and a team-high 14 points in Xavier's road loss to UConn Feb. 3.
