⚾️ Magic in Milwaukee

Jackson Chourio played the hero on Sunday in Milwaukee, delivering a walk-off hit against Padres star closer Mason Miller to lift the Brewers to a 4-3 victory and a 2-0 NLDS lead. The full at-bat is worth a watch .

Russell Dorsey, Yahoo Sports:

More than 41,000 Brewers fans had little to celebrate going into the ninth inning of Game 2 of the NLDS. They were probably frustrated most of the game.

For eight innings, their Brewers had looked unrecognizable. Eight innings of sloppy baseball, including three errors and two unearned runs, combined with a lack of offense had Milwaukee on the brink of losing their first game of this postseason. And against MLB's best and most intimidating closer, things looked grim.

Then the Brewers remembered who they are. It might've taken 8 2/3 innings, but in their 4-3 walk-off victory over the Padres in Game 2, they gave a sellout crowd at American Family Field a reason to cheer and a game they'll never forget.

Young hero:Chourio, 22, is the youngest player with a postseason walk-off hit since Édgar Rentería, 21, won the 1997 World Series with his Game 7 walk-off for the Marlins. And Chourio's heroics came a day after he set Milwaukee's all-time playoff home run record with a two-run blast , the fifth of his postseason career (14 games).

Flashback:Chourio is just the second player in MLB history to deliver a postseason walk-off hit with his team trailing against a pitcher who led his league in saves that season. The other? Kirk Gibson's legendary pinch-hit homer off Dennis Eckersley in the 1988 World Series.

Meanwhile, in the other NLDS…The Braves cobbled together a bullpen game to beat the Dodgers, 3-2, on Sunday night and even the series. The heroes in that one? A former 7-Eleven employee (Ray Kerr) and a 21-year-old rookie (Didier Fuentes), who combined for 19 outs against the two-time defending champs.

💯 Big Numbers

🏈 3 unbeatens

The Chiefs, 49ers and Vikings* are the only undefeated NFL teams still standing through four weeks after the Bills were upset by the Patriots on Sunday and the Raiders lost to Kansas City in a battle of unbeatens.

The other side:The Chargers, Titans, Texans, Dolphins and Buccaneers are still seeking their first victory. And with four of those five teams hailing from the AFC, that means a full quarter of the conference (4 of 16) remains winless.

⚽️ 17 years, 5 days

Cavan Sullivan wasted no time putting his stamp on the USMNT's biggest rivalry, netting the second goal in Saturday's 3-0 win over Mexico to become the youngest scorer in team history (17 years, 5 days old). "It's the best feeling I've ever experienced," said the teen phenom.

The kids are alright:The record Sullivan broke was set just last week by fellow 17-year-old Mathis Albert. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Julian Hall also scored on Saturday, becoming the youngest player for any country to score in his first three appearances since… Pelé in 1958.

🏒 21st season

Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang are embarking on their 21st season together with the Penguins, extending their record as the longest-tenured trio in the history of major North American sports. Second place? Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera and Jorge Posada, who played 17 seasons together with the Yankees (1995-2011).

Sid the Kid:This is Crosby's 20th consecutive season as Pittsburgh's captain, moving him past Red Wings legend Steve Yzerman (19 seasons) for the longest captaincy in NHL history.

🎾 32-0

Novak Djokovic came back to beat Alexander Zverev on Sunday in Beijing to improve to an unprecedented 32-0 at the China Open, breaking Rafael Nadal's record for the longest undefeated streak at a single tournament by a man in the Open Era (31-0 at Roland Garros).

What he's saying:"These are the kind of moments I still play for," said the 24-time Grand Slam champion. "It's been a struggle this year, to be honest, for different reasons, but I'm still there. I'm still grinding. I'm still making the youngsters work for their money."

*Rare feat: The 2026 Vikings are the third team in NFL history to start 4-0 despite failing to score a touchdown in multiple games, per ESPN. The other two teams? The 1922 Chicago Cardinals and the 1923 Chicago Cardinals.

🌎 The world in photos

🇺🇸 Atlanta, Georgia

Freshly minted DPOY Angel Reese led a defensive showcase as the Dream beat the Liberty , 92-82, to take a 1-0 lead in the WNBA semifinals. Atlanta turned New York over 21 times and scored 32 points off those turnovers, tying a WNBA playoff record.

Speaking of lock-down defense:The Valkyries beat the Aces, 71-60 , in Game 1 of the other semifinals, holding the reigning champs to their lowest point total of the season. Gabby Williams' excellent individual performance (25-11-5) didn't hurt, either.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 London, England

The Colts crushed the Commanders, 30-13 , at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the first London game of the NFL season. The game's biggest star? Who else but Jonathan Taylor, who carried the ball 20 times for 95 yards and a pair of scores to continue his dominance abroad .

JT's historic pace:Taylor has now scored 75 career rushing TDs in just 88 games, tied with Shaun Alexander for the fifth-fastest to that milestone in NFL history. Only Emmitt Smith (78), Jim Brown (79), LaDainian Tomlinson (81) and Adrian Peterson (87) got there faster.

🇯🇵 Kasugai, Japan

Tom Kim fired a 6-under 64 on Saturday to complete a three-stroke victory at the Asian Games, securing a gold medal and an exemption from South Korea's mandatory military service.

How it works:Able-bodied South Korean men are required to take on 18-21 months of military service before they turn 28, but the government hands out exemptions to Olympic medalists and winners of Asian Games events. Had Kim not won on Saturday, the 24-year-old's last chance at an exemption would have come at the 2028 Olympics.

🇲🇾 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Red Bull's Max Verstappen held off Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia for his first victory of the F1 season , winning a race that was marred by a 90-minute delay caused by both rain and software issues that led to multiple cars losing power.

What they're saying:"I had to stop on-track, stop the car, the engine, and restart it. I've never done that before," said Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton , who finished third. "What can you say? It's not what you want for the sport," added Verstappen, reiterating his previous criticism of this year's new engine regulations. "I hope there is a lesson learned."

🏈 Northwestern's new digs

This is an excerpt from today's edition of Yahoo Sports Biz. For a deeper dive into Ryan Field and the biggest stories across the sports business world, sign up here .

Northwestern moved to 3-1 with a 34-13 bludgeoning of Penn State on Friday to mark the grand opening of Ryan Field, the school's new $875 million stadium that instantly becomes the modern marvel of collegiate sports.

All eyes on Evanston:Ryan Field has attracted massive attention, and rightfully so, for its meticulously designed fan experience . But there's another reason why the masses are so fascinated by it: New college football stadiums are rarely built.

Consider this:Ryan Field is the first new football stadium since 2014 among Power Four schools (plus Notre Dame), whose stadiums are 77 years old on average. 88% of those stadiums opened before 2000, 79% opened more than 50 years ago and 59% opened before 1950. Contrast that with the NFL, where the average stadium age is 26, and five stadiums have opened in the last decade, with six more on the way.

More College Football:

AP Poll:Florida dropped eight spots to No. 16 in this week's rankings after getting blown out by Missouri, which jumped 11 spots to No. 14. Alabama leapfrogged Indiana to grab the No. 6 spot, BYU rose two spots to No. 8, Pittsburgh entered the poll at No. 25.
SEC parity:On Saturday, Alabama beat Mississippi State, which beat Missouri, which beat Florida, which beat Ole Miss, which beat LSU, which … you get the point. SEC parity is peaking, and it's made for a messy few weeks .
Underwood underwhelms (again):Michigan boosters shelled out an astronomical NIL payday to get Bryce Underwood to Ann Arbor. But the sophomore QB has mostly struggled, and Saturday's ugly loss to Minnesota could cost him the starting job .

Plus:Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith had another Heisman-worthy game (11 rec, 206 yds, 2 TD) … Colorado State parted ways with DC Tyson Summers during the middle of their game … Defending FCS champion Montana State's 19-game winning streak was snapped by Idaho .
