Winners of four in a row, the New York Yankees are looking to make it five straight. Defeating the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night would not only give the Yankees a series win over their hated rivals but also solidify their lead at the top of the AL East. New York captain Aaron Judge has begun to heat up after a tough opening to the campaign. However, his issues with the ABS system continue to plague the Bronx Bombers. New York manager Aaron Boone commented on Judge's challenges with ABS. His thoughts were shared by Foul Territory via X, formerly Twitter.
"I think there's some more spots there where Judgey could, because obviously they pitch so careful to him," Boone remarked in the interview. "A lot of times, throwing him balls on purpose, and sometimes, those get called. He'll be good with it over time."
Since snapping a five-game skid a few days ago, Judge has started to once again resemble the back-to-back AL MVP. The captain got into a slugfest with Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout during the teams' four game set in the Bronx last week. While he only had two hits in 13 at-bats in a series sweep over the Kansas City Royals , two walks and a hit in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Red Sox showed just how important he is to the Yankee lineup. As the season progresses, will the ABS system become easier for Judge to manage? If so, the Yankees' odds of making a deep October run could get better in turn.
