Yankees' Aaron Judge to see specialist for additional testing on bone bruise appeared first on ClutchPoints . Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here .
Aaron Judge was noticeably absent from the New York Yankees lineup on Tuesday night in their return to action against the Cleveland Guardians . While Judge hasn't quite been in peak form this season, his mere presence in the Yankees lineup elevates everyone around him. Judge, according to reports, missed the Yankees' most recent contest due to a diagnosed bone bruise on his ribs on the right side.
It's not quite clear yet just how severe this injury Judge sustained is. Some believe that the Yankees star could be out for multiple weeks. This would not be very promising for the Yankees, especially when they just lost to the Guardians, 9-4, amid his absence.
But for now, the Yankees are hoping for the best, with manager Aaron Boone declaring Judge's status as "day to day" as they get more information regarding his injury.
"I think we're gonna have a specialist look at it too because it's kind of a unique spot and everything. We'll have the specialist probably look at it tomorrow and see where we're at and see how he feels with it," Boone said. "Yeah, for now (it's a day-to-day thing)."
Judge has been complaining of some shoulder discomfort, and it's not too hard to connect the dots that the bone bruise he's been suffering from may be the root cause of the pain he's experiencing. This may be resulting in a drop-off in his production; while he's still sporting an excellent .908 OPS, he is just batting .248 — which would be his lowest batting average in MLB since his big-league cameo in 2016.
There is quite a long way to go in the 2026 season, so it would behoove the Yankees to prioritize Judge's long-term health . A more concrete action plan should come out the more it becomes clear to the Yankees just how severe Judge's injury is.
