Will Yankees' Cam Schlittler pitch in All-Star Game? The answers are cryptic appeared first on ClutchPoints . Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here .
While the New York Yankees snapped the previous seven-game losing streak the team was on, the team would also hear who got the nod to be in the All-Star Game. As Yankees pitcher Cam Schlittler got an All-Star nod , there is another question if he'll play in the event or not.
According to Brendan Kuty, Schlittler or even New York manager Aaron Boone has not "committed" the 25-year-old pitcher playing in the All-Star Game. With how the scheduled starts are lined up, Schlittler is set to go on Monday and possibly on July 11, which would mark three days from the event.
"Neither Boone nor Schlittler have committed to Schlittler pitching in the ASG. Said they would have to see how his schedule works out. He's slated to start tomorrow. If he starts five days later, that's July 11. ASG is July 14, which could be his between-starts throw day," Kuty wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Yankees ' Cam Schlittler on being an All-Star
Still, Schlittler's season with the Yankees has been impressive, as he has recorded a 2.08 ERA to go along with 123 strikeouts and an 8-5 record. He would speak on Saturday about the feeling of being an All-Star and if he believes he'll pitch at the game.
"It's a great feeling, obviously," Schlittler said, via SNY Yankees. "You know, can't really thank, you know, my teammates and coaches [enough], kind of just for the position they put me in, and just being able to succeed on the field. So, again, I don't like the stretch of play that we're in right now, but it's good to, you know, be aware of that, and definitely something to be proud about."
"We'll see again. Team comes first, priorities, so if it lines up, it lines up, and if it doesn't, that's fine as well," Schlittler said about pitching in the All-Star Game.
At any rate, it remains to be seen if Schlittler will play in the All-Star Game for the American League, as his next start comes on Monday against the Tampa Bay Rays .
