After a New York Yankees win on Monday over the Toronto Blue Jays , an astonishing fact was revealed by Giancarlo Stanton . Stanton said that his teammate, Jazz Chisholm Jr. , borrowed his pants to wear in the game. Stanton apparently didn't mind it either .
"I think it's great. It's definitely cool, especially because he's raking in them," Stanton said, per MLB.com.
The Yankees got a great performance from Chisholm on Monday. Chisholm hit a two-run homer to help lift New York and get the win. New York ended up defeating Toronto, 7-6.
"I went to Big G's pants, and the balls were coming off hot," Chisholm said, per the Associated Press.
Chisholm loves wearing Stanton's pants. They are baggy on Chisholm, but he doesn't mind.
"My teammates love 'em," Chisholm said. "I hear a lot of fans on the road talk about it, but at home guys like it."
The other Yankees players don't seem to mind it.
" Jazz has so much swag. He can really kind of pull off anything," Cody Bellinger said.
This season, Chisholm is now hitting at a .237 batting average. He has five home runs on the season, and 18 RBIs. The Yankees will need this kind of production, as the team is dealing with some pitching injuries.
Chisholm has had some struggles at the plate this season. New York manager Aaron Boone hopes this latest burst is a sign of more good things to come.
"He was missing pitches that he usually hits," Boone said, "and now you're seeing it come to its level a little bit."
The Yankees play the Blue Jays again on Tuesday. New York is now 29-19 on the season, and second in the American League East.
