Chisholm stepped in during the eighth inning with the score tied 2-2 as Guardians fans chanted "overrated." Moments later, he drove a solo shot off Tim Herrin , pushing the Yankees ahead 3-2 and flipping the energy in the second game of the three-game series.
The Athletic's Brendan Kuty posted on X, formerly Twitter, sharing Chisholm's postgame reaction after Cleveland fans tried to rattle him before the decisive homer.
"I love it, kind of. I feel like those were the loudest chants we heard all day. It was great."
The response fit the moment. Chisholm did not brush off the chants or pretend he ignored them. He embraced the noise, then made sure the swing carried extra weight.

He also made sure to soak in every second of his home run trot. The 28-year-old infielder confirmed his slow trip around the bases was for the fans, turning the jeers into part of the show after delivering the Yankees' biggest swing of the night.
The homer mattered because the game stayed tight throughout. Cleveland had erased an early New York lead , and the Yankees needed their bullpen to finish five scoreless innings to protect the margin.
Camilo Doval and Fernando Cruz helped close out the win, giving New York a 3-2 victory and moving the Yankees to 40-26.
The night also included Spencer Jones hitting his first MLB home run, but Chisholm owned the viral moment . His swing and postgame quote gave the club a sharper edge Tuesday night.

For the Yankees, the moment was more than one late homer. The former Miami Marlins slugger turned a hostile crowd into fuel and helped propel the club to another significant road win.
